Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's only mountainside zoo, located southwest of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado on Cheyenne Mountain in the United States at an elevation of 6,800 feet above sea level. he Zoo covers 140 acres (57 ha), 40 (16 ha) of which are in use. It is located west of The Broadmoor resort along the slopes of Cheyenne Mountain's lower north end. Named 6th-best zoo
in the nation in 2015.
The Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cog Railway is an Abt rack system cog railway with 4 ft 8 ¹⁄₂ in standard gauge track in Colorado, USA, climbing the well-known mountain Pikes Peak. The base station is in Manitou Springs, Colorado near Colorado Springs. The railway is the highest in North America by a considerable margin. It was built and is operated solely for the tourist trade.

The architecture and the color of The Broadmoor is like the grand hotels that would be found on the coast of the Mediterranean, in an Italian Renaissance style. The pink stucco of the façade also helps to blend in to the Pikes Peak area landscape.

Among the exhibits are two presidential carriages, including an 1841 Williamsburg Brougham used for the inauguration ceremony of William Henry Harrison, the ninth President of the United States. The other presidential carriage, an 1862 C-Spring Victoria, belonged to the 21st U.S. President, Chester A. Arthur.
Starr Kempf was raised on a small farm in Ohio, near the Swiss Mennonite community of Bluffton. His family, including his father and seven uncles, were blacksmiths and carpenters, from whom he learned craftsmanship and engineering at an early age.
He attended the Cleveland Institute of Art on a scholarship, where he received high marks for his paintings and drawings.
